Endowed Scholarships
Endowed scholarships are scholarships that have been established by alumni, friends of the University, and organizations for the purpose of permanently providing support to deserving and/or outstanding students.
Eligibility
Criteria for receiving named scholarships vary, but most funds require a demonstration of academic achievement and/or financial need. Many of these scholarships require university coursework and an established Utica University cumulative GPA, and are therefore awarded to returning, full-time, main campus students.

Ruth E. Abeling `89 Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Ruth E. Abeling `89, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students majoring in occupational therapy who demonstrate academic merit and financial need. Preference will be given to adult female students resuming their education.
Jonathan Adewumi ’86 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time junior or senior undergraduate student that demonstrates significant financial need with a minimum GPA of 2.5. The recipient must self-identify as Black, African American, or of Afro Ancestry (in accordance with the guidelines of self-reporting), and demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities and a commitment to fostering a sense of community through activities that embody the spirit of Jonathan Adewumi ’86.
Adirondack Bank Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students from areas where Adirondack Bank conducts business.
Paul Gregory Albanese Medical Scholarship
Established in memory of Paul Gregory Albanese, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students majoring in nursing with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Should no candidates be identified, full-time students majoring in a health care related program in the School of Health Professions and Education with a minimum GPA of 3.0 will be eligible. Under both scenarios, preference will be given to students from Oneida County.
Dr. Raymond J. Albert Memorial Scholarship
Established by Monica Albert, in memory of her husband, Emeritus Professor Raymond J. Albert, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students majoring in Management or Pre-Law students majoring in other areas. Students should be of good character and serious about pursuing a university degree.
Carol L. Albrecht Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to full-time, freshmen students from the Central Valley School District demonstrating academic merit and financial need.
Richard W. Alexander Sr. Scholarship
Established by Mrs. Louise Alexander, in memory of her husband, this scholarship is awarded to students with a demonstrated financial need from the Utica area.
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.- Robert D. Horton Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student based on academic potential and financial need, with preference given to a sophomore with a minimum GPA of 2.7 that demonstrates a high level of leadership, persistence, perseverance, and dedication to community service. Preference is given to members of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. who self-identify as African American/Black, Hispanic, or Latino/Latin X (in accordance with guidelines of self-reporting). This scholarship is renewable for the recipient’s subsequent academic years provided they maintain a minimum GPA of 2.7.
Jalil and Phillipine Altongy Scholarship
Established by Dr. John F. Millett '52, this scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior majoring in Management who exhibits outstanding character and shows future promise.
Joseph E. Altongy Scholarship
Established by Dr. John F. '52 and Margaret Altongy Millett, this scholarship is awarded to a student from the state of Massachusetts who possesses high moral standards and is actively involved in school or community affairs.
Alumni Memorial Scholarship
The Office of Alumni and Parent Relations announces competition for this award in the University "Morning Mention" email and/or the University newspaper. Applications should be made according to announced procedures. Awards are based on merit, future promise, and service to the University.
American Association of University Professors - Utica University Chapter Scholarship
Established by faculty at Utica University, this scholarship is awarded to a student in their junior year who demonstrates academic achievement and service to the University.
American Legion Whitestown Post #1113 Scholarship
Established by the Whitestown Post #1113 of the American Legion, this scholarship is awarded to a student from the town of Whitestown demonstrating academic promise and financial need.
Angelica Corporation Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students studying in a Health Care academic program and is based on academic achievement and financial need.
Asian Cultural Heritage Scholarship
Established by Dr. John F. '52 and Margaret A. Millett, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student of Asian-American heritage.
Albert Augustyn Family Scholarship
Established by Albert Augustyn, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in Biology with demonstrated academic merit and financial need.

Drs. Roger and Eleanor Zuckerman '51 Baker Scholarship
Established by Drs. Roger and Eleanor Zuckerman ’51 Baker, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student who has earned at least a B in courses in Art History and/or Anthropology. Preference shall be given to a student who has completed a course in each area and demonstrates financial need.
Frank N. and Victoria M. Fiore Balzano Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to full-time students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to students of Korean-American descent on the basis of academic merit and financial need.
Edward L. Bass Black Students Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded primarily to Black undergraduate students, with an emphasis on further demonstrating and promoting black culture. Recipients must maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA to be eligible and/or continue to receive the scholarship.
Dr. Hossein Behforooz and Mrs. Forough Saba Scholarship
Established by Dr. Hossein Behforooz, professor of mathematics, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students in their junior or senior year majoring in Mathematics. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need.
John C. Behrens Scholarship
Established by the Behrens family, this scholarship is awarded to a junior majoring in journalism who plans a career in newspaper or magazine journalism.
Donald G. `71 and Bernice F. `72 Benson Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to freshmen students with a high school average between 70% and 80%, a demonstrated financial need, and an indication of promise and potential in an academic or professional field. This scholarship is repeatable until graduation should the student maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.
Honorable George L. '49 and Gloria M. Betro Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students who are residents of Oneida County, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and are planning a career in public service. Recipients must show volunteerism through significant community activities and possess the traits demonstrated by Judge George Betro in his service to the community.
Black Alumni Association Scholarship
Established by alumni of Utica University, these scholarships are awarded to students of black heritage as follows:
- The Richard L. Frank Scholarship is awarded to a black freshman student who does not qualify for HEOP. The student must demonstrate leadership potential.
- The Dr. Leroy Wells, Jr. Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior who demonstrates academic improvement over two consecutive semesters.
Black Cultural Heritage Scholarship
Established by Dr. John F. Millett '52 and sponsored by Nu Psi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, this scholarship is awarded to a student of black heritage who demonstrates potential for academic success.
Josephine and B. Charles Blake Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students planning to pursue a career in classroom teaching at the pre-university level. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be eligible to initially receive, and to continue receiving the scholarship until graduation.
Honorable Sherwood L. Boehlert '61 Scholarship
Established by alumni of Utica University and friends of Congressman Sherwood L. Boehlert '61, this scholarship is awarded to students based on academic promise and financial need.
Archimandrite Elias Boustany Scholarship
Established by Dr. John F. '52 and Margaret A. Millett in memory of Monsignor Boustany, the first pastor of Sacred Heart Armenian Catholic Church in Little Falls, NJ, this scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student with high moral standards from the State of New Jersey.
Louis N. Brando Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Louis N. Brando, CPA, professor of accounting, this scholarship is awarded to an Accounting major who is a deserving student, has achieved a GPA of 3.0, and demonstrates financial need.
Broadway Theatre League-Pearle S. Nathan Scholarship
Established by the Broadway Theatre League in honor of the late President Emerita Pearle S. Nathan '59, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in Communications and Media. The recipient must maintain a commendable academic standing. Preference will be given to candidates from the Greater Mohawk Valley region.
Commander Harold C. and Mary Rorie Brown Scholarship
Established by Dr. Thomas G. and Civita A. Brown in honor of Dr. Brown’s parents, this scholarship is awarded to deserving full-time students majoring in Arts and Sciences who demonstrate academic merit and financial need.
Roswell W. '50 and Doreen (Darrigrand) '50 Buckingham Scholarship
Established by Roswell W. ’50 and Doreen ’50 Buckingham, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time freshman student who is a resident of the New Hartford School District, and a graduate of New Hartford Central School or Notre Dame High School in Utica. This scholarship may be renewable until graduation. The recipient must demonstrate academic promise, the desire to succeed, and be of good character.
Bull Family Scholarship
Established by the Bull family, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students enrolled in the Business School, with preference given to students concentrating in Business Management. The Dean of the School of Business and Justice Studies shall select the recipients based on academic merit and those traits that will make them an asset to their profession and community.
Bullock Family Scholarship
Established by Robert T. Bullock '69, Utica University Trustee, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students from the Utica/Rome/Mohawk Valley area majoring in a Business program.
Leona S. Burger Memorial Scholarship
Established by the late Professor Harold Burger in memory of his wife, this scholarship is awarded to a student interested in pursuing a career in Audiology and/or Speech Pathology.
Professor Thomas and Mrs. Marjorie Burke Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student who has successfully completed six (6) credit hours of Math and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 in these courses.
John and Agnes Burke Scholarship
Established by Judith B. Gorman '64 in honor of her parents, this scholarship is awarded to Criminal Justice or Economic Crime Investigation majors demonstrating academic merit and financial need.
Anne E. Burton Family Scholarship
This scholarship shall be awarded to a full-time matriculated undergraduate student with demonstrated financial need, and who shall declare, at matriculation their intention to study Biology, and will subsequently declare Biology as their academic major. The student shall have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 at matriculation, or the equivalent academic achievement from the high school from which they have graduated, and shall maintain this GPA in order to have the scholarship renewed in subsequent years. In addition, in order of priority, preference shall be given to students graduating from:
- Chatham Central School District, Chatham, NY OR
- New Lebanon Central School District, New Lebanon, NY OR
- Any other school in Columbia County, NY OR
- Rensselaer City High School, Rensselaer, NY OR
- Any other high School in Rensselaer County, NY
Randall D. Button Memorial Scholarship
Established by friends and business associates of Mr. Button, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in Management who demonstrates traits of perseverance, diligence, and high personal and ethical standards.

Established by the Calidonna family, this scholarship is awarded to a hard-working student who demonstrates good character and shows financial need.
Established by Utica University Trustee Don Carbone in memory of his parents, this scholarship is awarded to a student from the greater Utica area. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and plan a career in business.
Frank A., CLU and Nicolina Carchedi Memorial Scholarship
Established by friends and family, this scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior student majoring in Management on the basis of academic merit and financial need.
Joseph R. Carucci Scholarship
Established by Utica University Trustee Joseph R. Carucci, this scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate financial need.
Dr. Mario '50 and Louise Columbro Caruso Scholarship
Established in memory of Dr. Mario Caruso '50, this scholarship is awarded to students who plan to enter the profession of dentistry. Preference will be given to those who plan to attend the State University of New York College of Dentistry at Buffalo.
Peter and Edith Caruso Scholarship
Established by Thomas G. and Civita A. Brown in honor of Mrs. Brown's parents, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students majoring in Psychology-Child Life or Education, who demonstrate academic merit and financial need.
Albert and Margaret Casab Memorial Scholarship
Established by George M. Casab, Sr. and Shirley A. Casab in memory of their parents, this scholarship is awarded to a freshman from Oneida County with demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to a student of Lebanese or Syrian descent. The scholarship is repeatable until graduation as long as the recipient remains in good academic standing.
Joseph Michael Chubbuck '14 Memorial Scholarship
Established by Joseph D. '11 & Barbara M. Chubbuck in memory of their son Joseph Michael Chubbuck '14, this scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Physics that demonstrate academic promise, good character and desire in achieving their degree. Recipients will be selected by faculty of the Physics department and re-evaluated annually.
Clarke-Cardamone Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to promising students from the Mohawk Valley. Recipients are eligible to continue receiving the scholarship until graduation as long as they remain in good academic standing.
Class of 1950 Scholarship
Established by members from the Class of 1950 at their 45th Reunion, this scholarship is awarded to students of good character with demonstrated financial need.
Class of 1951 Scholarship
Established by members from the Class of 1951, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who demonstrates those traits that will make them an asset to their profession and community.
Class of 1952 Scholarship
Established by members from the Class of 1952 at their 40th Reunion to honor the faculty and staff of Utica University who have had a positive influence on their lives, this scholarship is awarded to students of outstanding character who show academic promise.
Class of 1953 Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to deserving students based on financial need.
Class of 1959 Scholarship
Established by members from the Class of 1959, this scholarship is awarded to students of good character who demonstrate financial need.
Leonard and Mildred Quaas Clemente Scholarship
Established by Professor Annette and John Dimon in honor of the 50th wedding anniversary of Professor Dimon's parents, this scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior who has returned to school after 10 or more years since high school graduation. Selection will be based on academic merit with preference given to Accounting majors.
Daniel S. ’57 and Theresa M. (Chieco) ’62 Cohen Scholarship
Established by the Cohens, this scholarship is awarded to a student who is a graduate of the Utica City School District, ranks high in academic achievement, is of outstanding character, and demonstrates financial need.
The Thomas J. Cole ’92 Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded annually with first preference given to full-time students matriculated at Utica University graduating from Edmeston Central School District, followed by qualifying students graduating from any high school in Otsego County, New York. In any academic year in which there may not be students enrolled at the University based on the preferences stated herein, the Office of Financial Aid shall consider any other full-time students from the immediate counties surrounding Otsego County. Recipients shall be eligible for renewal each academic year providing they continue to be in good academic standing, and demonstrate financial need.
Robert W. Coletti '52 Memorial Scholarship
Established by Debra Coletti Swider in memory of her father, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students from the greater Utica area who are enrolled in the Education program, and are well rounded in all aspects of university life: academic, cultural, social, and athletic. The recipient will have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need.
Gene and Ben Comora/Raymond Simon Institute Scholarship
Established by Owen Comora '53 in honor of his parents, this scholarship is awarded to full-time, matriculated, undergraduate students majoring in Public Relations and/or Journalism, who have achieved academic excellence and demonstrated those professional and personal attributes and skills needed for success in the public relations and/or journalism fields.
Father Robert J. Conrad and Mrs. Ruth M. Conrad Scholarship
Established by an anonymous donor in honor of the 25th anniversary of Father Conrad's ordination and in memory of his mother, Ruth, this scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding character and traits of caring, compassion, and service.
Richard J. Converse Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated interest in peace and social justice in the Central New York area, and who best exhibits the potential for commitment to their community as exemplified by the life of Mr. Converse. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
J. Leo and Helen B. Coupe Scholarship
Established by family, this scholarship is awarded to deserving full-time students from the greater Utica area who demonstrate outstanding academic promise and the potential for leadership.
Thomas F. `69 and Charlotte M. Cox Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to promising students with a demonstrated financial need majoring in Accounting. Preference will be given to students in their junior or senior year.
Walter A. Cragnolin Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Professor Cragnolin, this scholarship is awarded to a Construction Management major on the basis of academic merit, future promise, and financial need.
Durwood Creed '53 Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in physics. If there are not enough students meeting this criteria to fulfill the allocation of all the available funds, consideration will be given to students majoring in any of the natural sciences.
Martha Bair and Virgil C. Crisafulli Scholarship
Created by Professor Emeritus Dr. and Mrs. Virgil C. Crisafulli, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students from low-income families, preferably the poverty level as defined by the federal government, and should have a minimum GPA of 2.5. The Dean of the School of Business and Justice Studies shall select the recipients. This scholarship is renewable each year until graduation providing the recipient maintains a minimum GPA of 2.5 and demonstrates those traits which will make them an asset to their profession and community.
Delores Y Critelli '88 Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time female student interested in becoming an entrepreneur with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a demonstrated financial need.
The Robert F. Croft '01 Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Robert F. Croft ’01, this scholarship is awarded to a second-year student in good standing in the Economic Crime Master’s Program, who is employed in the public sector or law enforcement and received little employer subsidy in support of their education. Students applying for the scholarship will be required to submit a statement outlining how overcoming adversity has affected their life/career, reasons for pursuing this degree and ways in which this degree will allow them to benefit society. The recipient will be selected by a committee consisting of two professors and an alumnus of the ECM program as designated by the Executive Director of Economic Crime and Justice Studies department.
Carolyn L. Dalton '74 Scholarship
Established by Utica University Emeritus Trustee Carolyn L. Dalton ’74, this scholarship is awarded to a student with a major or minor in Communication Arts. The recipient must demonstrate academic merit and financial need, and exhibit those traits which will make them an asset to their profession and community.
Michael D. Damsky Young Scholars Scholarship
Established by Utica University Trustee Michael Damsky, this scholarship is awarded to deserving students from the City of Utica who are graduates of the Young Scholars Program.
NYS Teamsters Joint Council 18 - Rocco F. De Perno Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to full-time students based on financial need. Preference will be given to students whose parents are a member of the Teamsters union. If no students meet this criteria, then awards may be made to students from the Mohawk Valley.
Donald A. '54 and Marlene J. DeRosa Scholarship
Established by Utica University Emeritus Trustee Donald A. ’54 and Marlene J. DeRosa, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time matriculated student who is a junior or senior majoring in a Health-Related field. The recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrate high moral and ethical standards, and show academic merit.
Jeffrey D. DeRosa '84 Memorial Scholarship
Established by Utica University Emeritus Trustee Donald A. ’54 and Marlene J. DeRosa in memory of their son Jeffrey, this scholarship is awarded to graduates of Whitesboro Senior High School who are all-around good students, and who are enthusiastic, ambitious, and have demonstrated favorable academic potential.
DeTraglia Family Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Construction Management or Education who are residents of Oneida County, and demonstrate academic merit and financial need. If no students meet these criteria, the scholarship can be awarded based on financial need.
Dr. Henry R. and Rose DiSpirito Memorial Scholarship
Established by Delores and Theresa DiSpirito in memory of their parents, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student in their junior or senior year who is majoring in the area of Arts, including, but not limited to, painting, sculpture, theatre, dance, or music, or who is majoring in one of the traditional humanities majors and has a special interest in the arts. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate traits which will make them an asset to their profession and community. The recipient will be selected by the Dean of Faculty in consultation with the faculty of the Division of Arts and Sciences.
Professor George J. Dmohowski Scholarship
Established by friends of Professor Dmohowski, this scholarship is awarded to Mathematics majors in their junior or senior year based on academic promise and financial need.
Peter A. Donato Jr. Scholarship
Established in memory of Peter A. Donato, Jr., this scholarship is awarded to a freshman from Central New York majoring in Mathematics or Science with a demonstrated financial need.
Reverend Monsignor William J. Donovan Scholarship
Established by an anonymous donor in recognition of Monsignor Donovan's contribution to the Utica community, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students from the greater Utica area planning a career in Education, and who volunteer their services for the good of the community and the University. The recipient must show academic merit, have financial need, be of high moral character, and exhibit traits of dedication and compassion exemplified by Monsignor Donovan.
Dr. Milton and Ava Müeller Dorfman Scholarship
Established by Ava Müeller Dorfman in memory of her late husband Dr. Milton Dorfman and in recognition of her commitment to improving the quality of life for older Americans, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student with an interest in, or who cares for the elderly, in health care or social services.
Anne M. Dowling Memorial Scholarship
Established by William F. Dowling `68 in memory of his mother, this scholarship is awarded to academically and financially deserving students.
Father Paul J. Drobin Scholarship
Established by an anonymous donor in recognition of Father Drobin's contribution of care, counsel, and dedication to the Utica community, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students who demonstrate high moral character and show academic merit and financial need.
Frank M. Dulan Scholarship
Established by family and friends of Mr. Dulan, former Mayor of the City of Utica and a United States Marshal, this scholarship is awarded to a student demonstrating financial need and an interest in government and politics through their selection of courses in Political Science, History, and/or Government.
Margaret and James F. DuRoss Scholarship
Established by Utica University Trustee James F. DuRoss, Jr. in honor of his parents, this scholarship is awarded to the child or dependent of individuals employed in janitorial services, building maintenance, custodial and/or maid service, and must demonstrate financial need. If no students meet these criteria, the scholarship can be made available to other full-time students based on academic merit and financial need.
Loretta J. Dylis Nursing Scholarship
Established by family and friends of Mrs. Dylis, this scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Nursing with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrates those traits that will make them an asset to their profession.
Carl S. and Andrea J. Dziekan Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a freshman or transfer student majoring in Construction Management that is a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School, Utica, NY, or its successor. Provided the awarded student continues in the major and maintains a GPA of 2.5 or better, they may continue to receive subsequent annual awards.

Sal J. Eannace-Tau Phi Zeta Scholarship
Established by the Tau Phi Zeta Fraternity, this scholarship is awarded to a student for all four years of their education. The recipient must be a resident of Oneida County, demonstrate community involvement, and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Early Childhood/Elementary Education-New York Telephone Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to minority, physically challenged, or at-risk students from the Utica area majoring in Early Childhood/Elementary Education.
Economic Crime Investigation Institute Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in Economic Crime Investigation for use in their junior year. The student must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.33, show leadership potential, and make significant contributions to the program.
Thomas Proctor Eldred, Sr. Memorial Scholarship
Established by the New York State Builder's Supply Association in memory of their founder, this scholarship is awarded to a Construction Management student in their junior year.
Susan Emery Ellinwood ’69 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student in an Education Program at Utica University. The student should demonstrate the intent of becoming a certified classroom teacher after graduation.
George A. Ellis `55 Memorial Scholarship
Established by his wife Katherine, a maximum of five (5) scholarships will be awarded to students with a demonstrated financial need who have successfully completed a minimum of six credit hours of Physics, and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
This scholarship is awarded to a student studying public relations or journalism based on academic merit and financial need.
This scholarship is awarded to students who are first generation Italian-Americans or immigrants that demonstrate academic merit and financial need.
Established in memory of Francis A. Wilcox, this fellowship is awarded to students based on academic scholarly achievement, extra-curricular activities,
leadership, community service and volunteer engagement, propensity to succeed academically and a clear, demonstrated financial need. Fellowships are renewable provided the recipients continue to be enrolled full-time, and continue to be in good academic standing.
Established at the bequest of Samuel S. Freeman, this scholarship is awarded to deserving students of high scholarship and character.
Furgal Scholarships
Joseph P. Furgal '50, founding Trustee, established the following scholarships to honor his family and friends.
- Catharine Christensen Scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Psychology.
- Donald L. Cielsak Scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in Mathematics.
- Adela Nowak Scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Mathematics.
- Marsha Smith Scholarshipis awarded to a student majoring in Accounting.

Established by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation, this scholarship is awarded to economically disadvantaged students, with a preference for graduates of the Young Scholars Program. Preference will be given to students who intend to permanently reside in the United States after completion of their studies.

This scholarship is awarded to students in their senior year majoring in Accounting with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who have demonstrated professional potential. Recipients will be selected by the full-time Accounting faculty. If no students meet these criteria, the scholarship can be awarded to students majoring in Business or Economics.
Hayner Hoyt Corporation Construction Management Scholarship
This scholarship shall be awarded to a full-time matriculating first-year undergraduate student with demonstrated financial need, and who shall declare, at matriculation their intention to study Construction Management, and will subsequently declare Construction Management as their academic major. The student shall have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 at matriculation, or the equivalent academic achievement from the high school from which they have graduated, and shall maintain this GPA in order to have the scholarship renewed in subsequent years. In selecting qualified recipient(s), preference shall be given to a female student and/or a student from a historically-recognized under-represented community.
Scholarships are renewable provided the recipient continues to be enrolled full-time, and continues the course of study in this degree program, and maintains a minimum cumulative GPA as set forth in the above criteria. Recipients will be selected by the Center for Student Success - Office of Financial Aid.

Edward, Jane, and Virginia Hutton Memorial Scholarship in Nursing/Pre-Medicine
Established by Todd Stewart Hutton, Utica University's tenth chief executive officer, and additional family members, this scholarship is awarded to deserving full-time students pursuing a career in nursing or medicine, and who demonstrate academic merit and financial need. Candidates shall have a minimum high school grade point average of 3.5 or transfer grade point average of 3.0. Additionally, freshman candidates shall have SAT combined scores of 1150 or higher.
Hyman-Goodman Award
Established by Martin Hyman in memory of his father Samuel Hyman, and father-in-law Max Goodman, this scholarship is awarded to students based on financial need.

Integrative Healthcare Institute Scholarship
These scholarships will be awarded annually to at least two full-time students. Preference will be given to undergraduate students entering their junior or senior year with high academic promise and a demonstrated interest in integrative healthcare. In accordance with established University policy, the Director of the Institute for the Study of Integrative Healthcare, in conjunction with The Center for Student Success – Office of Financial Aid, will establish a process for the solicitation of nominations for eligible and deserving students by members of the Utica University faculty. In any academic year in which there may not be a student enrolled at the University meeting the criteria as stated above, consideration may be given to a graduate student (or students) with a demonstrated interest in integrative healthcare, or undergraduate students pursuing a career in the health professions.
In the Line of Duty Memorial Scholarship
Established by Utica University in memory of Amy Lynn Donovan `96, the first female police officer in Austin, TX to die in the line of duty, this scholarship provides full tuition, based upon financial need, to dependent children of Utica University alumni or employees who die in the line of law enforcement or military duty. Recipients must be full-time students and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.2. Students who receive full tuition funding through other programs are not eligible for the monetary value of this scholarship.
Established by Mrs. Camille Jasinski in memory of her husband, this scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated financial need, who is pursuing a career in Computer Science and maintains a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Big John Kaczmarski Jr. Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a freshman with a high school average between 70% and 80% that demonstrates financial need and an indication of promise and potential. Preference will be given to a Criminal Justice major from western New York. The recipient will be eligible to continue receiving the scholarship until graduation as long as they maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.
Edward J. "Bud" Kane '51 Scholarship
Established in memory of Edward J. "Bud" Kane '51 by his family, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students who are veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
James T. Kane '57 Scholarship
Established by Maryann Kane in memory of her husband, this scholarship is awarded to a student who is a veteran of the US Armed Forces, or is the child of a veteran. The recipient must demonstrate academic promise and financial need. If no student meets these criteria, the scholarship can be awarded to a local student based on academic merit and financial need.

Established by an anonymous donor in recognition of Dr. Keller's years of teaching, caring attitude, and work in the development of the University, this scholarship is awarded to students who have successfully completed six credit hours in Chemistry and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Nick '58 and Jean Kelly Memorial Teaching Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to students majoring in Education who plan a career in teaching. Recipients will be a graduate of a high school in either Oneida or Herkimer counties, demonstrate financial need, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5, and show academic potential and commitment to students that would carry on the tradition of teaching excellence that Nick Kelly modeled for 32 years.
Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Scholarship
The Black Student Union will announce the competition for this scholarship and coordinate the nomination process with the Center for Student Success - Financial Aid Services. Scholarships will be awarded to freshman or sophomore students of color who exemplify the characteristics of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as demonstrated by their extra-curricular and volunteer activities. To be eligible, freshman applicants must have a minimum first semester GPA of 2.5 and sophomore applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5. The recipients must remain in good academic standing at the end of each semester to continue receiving the scholarship.

Established by the Knittle’s, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students showing academic promise who have volunteered their time for the good of the University community.
Peter Kucherenko and Eugenia Kucherenko Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to deserving, underprivileged students of Russian descent who are graduates of the Young Scholars Program and enrolled full-time. Should no students meet these criteria, the scholarship can be awarded to deserving students of Russian descent and/or from Eastern Europe who are enrolled full-time.
LaBella Family Scholarship
Established by Frank LaBella in honor of his parents Paola and Marie (DiPerro) LaBella, and his sisters Antoinette and Donna Nellie LaBella, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student from Oneida County majoring in Biology with a minimum GPA of 3.25. The student should possess high moral character, academic merit, and show financial need. Should no students meet these criteria, the scholarship may be awarded based on financial need and academic merit.
Gerald and Grace Lamb Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded annually to two students with demonstrated financial need enrolled in an undergraduate Nursing degree program at the Utica, New York campus. The scholarships are renewable in each subsequent academic year for each awardee if they remain in an undergraduate Nursing degree program at the Utica campus, and as long as the student maintains a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of a least 3.0. From time to time, as a result of additional gifts and/or investment growth, one or more additional students may be selected to receive awards, each of which must be of equal value. Recipients will be selected by the Center for Student Success-Financial Aid Services.
Martha Sutton ’77 & David ’76 Lamb Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded annually equally to two students, one enrolled in a course of study for Accounting and one enrolled in a course of study for Chemistry, each with demonstrated financial need. Preference be given to first-generation university students who are graduates from the following school districts: Churchville-Chili School District of Monroe County, NY; City of Rochester, NY School District; Pembroke School District of Genesee County, NY; and Afton High School District of Chenango County, NY. Preference will also be given to on-campus resident students. The scholarships are renewable in each subsequent academic year for each awardee if their academic concentration continues in the specified programs, and as long as the student maintains a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0. This scholarship is awarded to students majoring in Journalism that demonstrate financial need, exceptional leadership qualities, achievement in the classroom, extracurricular activities, and Journalism. Should no students meet these criteria, the scholarship can be awarded on the same criteria to students majoring in Public Relations. Recipients will be selected by the Journalism and Public Relations faculty.

Established upon F. Clark Laurie’s retirement from Utica University, this scholarship is awarded to students who are residents of Madison or Oneida counties and are majoring in Accounting.
Donald R. Led Duke Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students from the Capital Region of New York State, with preference given to students enrolled in the Construction Management Program.

This scholarship shall be awarded in equal amounts to three (3) full-time undergraduate students who meet the following criteria:

Native American Cultural Heritage Scholarship
Established by Dr. John F. Millett '52, this scholarship is awarded to a student that is: at least one-fourth American Indian, Eskimo, or Aleut; an enrolled member of a tribe, band, or group recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs; and is pursuing a four-year degree.
New Century Club Scholarship
Established by the New Century Club, this scholarship is awarded to full-time junior or senior students with a minimum GPA of 3.5, who are from Oneida County and are going into the fields of Teaching, Nursing, or Business. Recipients do not have to demonstrate financial need. Graduate students meeting these criteria are also eligible for this scholarship.

Norrie Family Scholarship
Established in honor of Dr. Alexander Norrie, a noted professor of mathematics education, by his wife Gloria and son James, the following scholarships will be awarded:
- One (1) to a student in their junior year pursuing a career in the Mathematics education. If no student meets these criteria, the scholarship will be awarded to a student whose educational and professional aspirations are most closely affiliated with the field of Mathematics. This scholarship will be renewable for the recipient's senior year: and
- One (1) to a senior student majoring in a business related program with the highest cumulative grade point average.
Michael Nucci Memorial Scholarship in Accounting
Established by Adalgisa Nucci '67 in memory of her father, this scholarship is awarded to a first-generation student majoring in Accounting or Mathematics, with a minimum of GPA of 3.0, and a demonstrated financial need. Should no individual meet these criteria, preference will be given to any student majoring in Accounting or Mathematics, with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and a demonstrated financial need.
Dr. Murray L. Nusbaum Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to full-time students majoring in nursing, with preference given to students interested in reproductive health. The recipients must have excellent academic credentials with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate the skills, aptitude, and commitment that will make them an asset to the nursing profession and/or reproductive health care community. The Dean of the School of Health Professions and Education in consultation with the academic and clinical faculty of the nursing program will select the recipients.
NYS Federation of Home Bureaus, Inc. Scholarship in Honor of Joan Lyons Romanow
Established by New York State Federation of Home Bureaus, Inc. to recognize Joan Lyons Romanow for her service, this scholarship is awarded to students residing in counties where the Bureau has organized Chapters and County Executive Officers. The recipient must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and major in Psychology-Child Life.
Occupational Therapy Graduate Student Legacy Scholarship
This scholarship will provide financial assistance annually to a graduate student majoring in Occupational Therapy with a minimum GPA of 3.5, and is based on financial need and a strong record of personal growth demonstrated through volunteering or an experience handling a personal situation. The recipient shall be selected by the Center for Student Success-Financial Aid Services.
The One Charity Golf Classic Scholarship
Established from the proceeds of The One Charity Golf Classic under the auspices of the United Food and Commercial Workers District Union Local One, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student who is a member, or the child of a member, of UFCW District Union Local One, another UFCW local union, or another union affiliated with the AFL-CIO. The recipient must demonstrate academic merit and financial need.
Oneida County Forty & Eight Voiture 92 Scholarship
Established by Oneida County Forty & Eight Voiture 92, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student from Oneida County enrolled in the Nursing program who is not a licensed registered Nurse. The recipient must show academic promise and financial need.
Oneida-Herkimer County Dental Society Scholarship
Established by the Oneida-Herkimer County Dental Society, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students who have self-identified as interested in pre-dental studies and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. Failing any qualified students based on these criteria, the scholarship can be awarded to students in the School of Arts and Sciences with a minimum GPA of 3.0 that plan on attending graduate school in a health professions career. The Advisory Committee on Health Professions will be consulted on the selection of the recipient.
Zbigniew Opalka '76 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students from the Utica City School District with demonstrated financial need and academic promise. Should no students meet these criteria, students from Oneida County with demonstrated financial need and academic promise will be eligible.

Established by the family and friends of Marguerite Palmer `83, this scholarship is awarded to students who have voluntarily contributed time on a regular basis to aid fellow students in achieving their academic goals.
Mary Sophia Tyler Palmer Scholarship
Established by Associate Professor Emeritus of Mathematics Wayne N. Palmer in honor of his grandmother, this scholarship is awarded to a female student in her sophomore, junior, or senior year with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrated financial need.
Professor Wayne Newman Palmer Scholarship
Established by Professor Wayne Newman Palmer, a minimum of five (5) scholarships will be awarded to entering students studying Mathematics. Recipients shall be selected by the Center for Student Success-Financial Aid Services in consultation with the Mathematics Department.
Dr. Anthony J. and Phyllis (Ciruzzi) Palumbo Scholarship
Established by former University Trustee Dr. Palumbo, this scholarship is awarded to students with financial need majoring in the Natural Sciences that plan to attend medical school.
Paolozzi Family Scholarship
Established by Anthony C. '72 and Barbara Paolozzi, this scholarship is awarded to full-time, undergraduate students enrolled in the Physical Therapy program based on academic merit, financial need, and demonstrated strong community service and leadership.
Mary Larkin Penney Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to full-time students with academic merit and financial need.
Barbara and Richard Peres Scholarship
Established by Dr. Prosper I. Igboli ’74 in honor of Barbara and Richard Peres, this scholarship is awarded to deserving full-time students with an interest in pursuing a career in medicine. Recipients must be of outstanding character, demonstrate academic merit and financial need.
Grace and Arthur Perlmutter Scholarship
Established by Walter M. Perlmutter `50 in honor of his parents, this scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in English with a strong interest or aptitude in creative writing, American literature, or both. The recipient must be a second, third, or fourth year student, have a demonstrated financial need, and a minimum GPA of 3.0. Selection will be done in consultation with the Chair of the English Department.
Victor A. Perretta Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates a strong interest and potential for leadership in their local and/or the University community.
Margaret M. Pfeiffer ’89 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student studying Occupational Therapy (OT), with demonstrated financial need and shows good academic promise if matriculating for the first time and/or remains in good academic standing in order to have the scholarship renewed in subsequent years. In the event an OT student cannot be identified, it may be awarded to a student in the School of Health Professions and Education. In subsequent years, through additional contributions and/or through investment growth, the Fund may generate sufficient income to enable the awarding of additional awards of equal value. Recipients shall be selected by the Center for Student Success-Financial Aid Services.
Richard A. Philipson Scholarship
Established by the Max and Ruth C. Philipson Foundation in memory of Richard A. Philipson, this scholarship is awarded to students from the Utica-area with demonstrated financial need.
Joseph A. (Chubby) Piccola Scholarship
Established by the University’s former Director of Security and Sheriff of Oneida County, this scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Criminal Justice who is currently a law enforcement officer at the state or local level, or to a student majoring in Criminal Justice who intends to pursue a career in law enforcement at the state or local level. Preference will be given to a student from the Oneida, Herkimer, and Madison counties area.
Stephen Pidchomny Scholarship
Established in memory of Stephen Pidchomny by his family, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students who are veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
Helen Elizabeth Popso Scholarship
Established in memory of Helen Popso by her son Michael K. Simpson, Utica University's ninth chief executive officer, this scholarship is awarded to a student whose voluntary charitable service reflects the commitment to humanitarianism that was a hallmark of Helen Popso's life.
Winifred and Stanley Pula Scholarship Fund
Established by Dr. James Pula in honor of his parents, this scholarship is awarded to deserving, full or part-time graduate or undergraduate students majoring in History, who are residents of Oneida County and demonstrate academic achievement and financial need.
James R. '59 and Katherine B. Pyne Scholarship
Established by James R. ’59 and former Utica University Trustee Katherine B. Pyne, this scholarship is awarded to deserving students from the City of Utica that are graduates of the Young Scholars Program. Should no student meet these criteria, the scholarship can be awarded to students from the Mohawk Valley.
John Quackenbush Scholarship
Established in memory of John Quackenbush by family and friends, this scholarship is awarded to students from Central New York majoring in Construction Management.

Hattie and Bill Riley Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students with a demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to African-American students accepted and/or enrolled in the Graduate Education Program who are planning on teaching in the Utica City School District, with secondary preference given to minority students meeting these same criteria. Should there be no students meeting these criteria, preference will first be given to undergraduate African-American students who are graduates of the Young Scholars Program and pursuing certification in Education, with secondary preference given to minority students meeting these same criteria. Recipients will be selected by the Director of the Education Department.
Frank J. Robilotta Scholarship
Established by family and friends in recognition of Mr. Robilotta's commitment to the Utica community, this scholarship is awarded to a student who is a graduate of the Utica City School District demonstrating academic merit and financial need.
Mario Rocci – Marie Cuccaro Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman with a demonstrated financial need from Oneida County, who graduated from high school in the top 10 percent of their class, and is majoring in the Health Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology. The scholarship is repeatable until graduation should the recipient maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Jeanne Louise Ulrich Romano Memorial Scholarship
Established by F. Eugene Romano in memory of his wife, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students who reside within a 10-mile radius of Utica, excel in the Business Management curriculum, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate those traits that will make them an asset to their profession and community. In the event that funds remain to be awarded after the initial scholarships are made, or in instances where there are no students meeting these original criteria, other full-time students in the Business curriculum residing in the Mohawk Valley, will be eligible to receive the scholarship.
Rosato Family Scholarship
Established by the Central New York Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants in memory of Philip O. Rosato, this scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Accounting based on financial need and academic excellence.
N. A. and Mildred Rotunno Memorial Scholarship
Established by the family of N. A. and Mildred Rotunno, this scholarship is awarded to a student who does not show need under usual financial need tests, but who, because of unusual circumstances, could be considered needy.

Established by an anonymous donor in honor of Dr. Schmidt's years of teaching and his work in the development of Utica University, this scholarship is awarded to students who have completed six credit hours of Speech Communications courses and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0.
John and Elizabeth Falzarano Scialdo Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in Business Administration.
Second Chance Scholarship
Established by Dr. John F. Millett '52 and Margaret A. Millett, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student over the age of 30 who is beginning their university career or returning to complete their degree.
Raymond and Mary (Ghoulam) Seng Scholarship
Established by Mary (Ghoulam) Seng in memory of her husband Raymond, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students majoring in Business Administration (Management programs) who have outstanding character and show academic promise. The Dean for the School of Business and Justice Studies shall select the recipient.
Dr. Raymond A. Serway '59 Scholarship
Established by Dr. Raymond A. Serway ’59, this scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in one of the Natural Sciences with special consideration to Physics majors. Selection of the recipient shall be based on financial need and academic excellence.

This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior majoring in the Natural Sciences that plans to pursue a career in medicine. Recipient must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Professor Raymond Simon Scholarship
Established by students of Professor Simon in recognition of his excellence in teaching, this scholarship is awarded to a student with outstanding potential in the public relations field.
Reverend Carol M. Simpson Scholarship
Established in honor of Reverend Carol M. Simpson by her children, Jennifer and Robert, as well as other devoted relatives and friends, this scholarship is awarded to a qualified female student who has displayed a passionate commitment to community service that has been the essence of Carol Simpson's life. The recipient will have a minimum GPA of 3.0, with preference given to a student whose civic activism has focused on the improvement of race relations and/or the elevation of under-represented minorities or refugees. Special preference will be given to members of these under-represented populations themselves who demonstrate a strong commitment to these areas of civic activism.

Established in honor of Dr. Michael K. Simpson, Utica University's ninth chief executive officer, this scholarship is awarded to deserving students from the city of Utica who are graduates of the Young Scholars Program.
Robert P. Simpson Scholarship
Established in honor of Robert P. Simpson by his son Michael K. Simpson, Utica University's ninth chief executive officer, this scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates a commitment to the values of professionalism and community service of which Robert Simpson's life has been an example. Special preference is given to graduates of the Young Scholars Program.
Natalie Alys Smith Scholarship for Physical Therapy
Established by the faculty of Physical Therapy to honor Dr. Dale Scalise-Smith, this scholarship is awarded to a deserving full-time student majoring in Physical Therapy, who demonstrates academic merit and excellence in research. Recipients shall be selected by the faculty of the Physical Therapy Program.

Established by the St. Luke’s-Memorial Alumnae Association, Inc., this scholarship is awarded to matriculated students majoring in Nursing who demonstrate financial need and academic excellence. Preference will be given to graduates of the Utica Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, St. Luke's Home and Hospital School of Nursing, or St. Luke's-Memorial Hospital Center School of Nursing.
Minnie V. Stappenbeck and Colonel Edna F. Stappenbeck Scholarship
Established by Edna F. Stappenbeck '51 in memory of her mother, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student demonstrating academic excellence and financial need that plans to pursue a career in Nursing.
Dr. Stewart H. Starer `66 and Gerald Starer `65 Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate adult students with a demonstrated financial need, who can only take up to 12 credit hours annually due to personal family or work obligations. Preference will first be given to campus-based students, and then to online students that reside in New York State. Recipients are eligible to receive this scholarship one time and it is not renewable.
Professor Lester and Mrs. Clarice Start Scholarship
In recognition of Professor Start's years of teaching, caring attitude, and work in the development of the University, this scholarship is awarded to students who have successfully completed six credit hours of Philosophy and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 in these courses.
Dr. Paul J. Steele Scholarship
In honor of Dr. Steele's years of teaching, caring attitude, and work in the development of the University, this scholarship is awarded to a student who has successfully completed at least six credit hours of Physics and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 in these courses.
Ralph Strebel Scholarship
Established in memory of Dean Ralph F. Strebel, this scholarship is awarded to an outstanding Pre-Medical scholar.
Streichert Family Scholarship
Established by Catherine H. Streichert in memory of her parents, Otto and Frances, and her sister, Albertine, this scholarship is awarded to a freshman who is a resident of the greater Utica area and graduated from the Utica, Whitestown, or New Hartford School District. The recipient must demonstrate a strong desire to learn and financial need.
William Sugarman Memorial Scholarship
Established by the sons of William Sugarman, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students majoring in Accounting who demonstrate academic ability and financial need. Recipients must be residents of Oneida County and demonstrate those traits which will make them assets to their professions and communities.
Sullivan Family Scholarship
Established in memory of Catherine and Morris Sullivan and Kenneth and Catherine Back Sullivan, this scholarship is awarded to deserving full-time students of Irish descent who maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate academic promise and a desire to succeed. If no students meet these criteria, then the scholarship can be awarded to students that maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 with a demonstrated financial need.
Surace Family Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate, non-traditional adult student with demonstrated financial need.
Kenneth J. Taubes `80 Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students based on academic potential and financial need, with preference given to students majoring in Accounting. Should no students meet these criteria, the scholarship can be awarded to students based on financial need.
Theta Xi Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students with a minimum GPA of 2.0, financial need, and a Greek affiliation or legacy connection to a current or former Theta Xi member.
Gennaro and Carmella Tierno Memorial Scholarship
Established by Joseph Tierno in honor of his parents, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student who achieves a high standard in the study of Journalism or Political Science. Preference will be given to students of Italian-American heritage and to those who express a desire to enter public service. Recipients must show academic promise and those traits that will make them an asset to their profession and community. Candidates will be recommended by the respective School offices.
Jacque and Terry Tolles Scholarship
Established in memory of Mrs. Tolles by friends, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students from Oneida County who are interested in public service and who might not otherwise attend Utica University.
Dean Winton Tolles and Patricia Doyle Tolles Scholarship
Established by family, friends, and the Cogar Foundation in memory of Dean and Mrs. Tolles, this scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and academic merit.
David F. Trad '59 Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Mr. Trad by associates and family, this scholarship is awarded to a freshman majoring in Computer Science who is a graduate of Whitesboro High School.
Anna Trapanick Fund for Nursing Students
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in Nursing. The recipient must demonstrate a particular interest in geriatric nursing.
Symeon and Ann (Clark) Tsoupelis Scholarship
Established by Symeon and Ann Tsoupelis in memory of Dr. Christos Kotsanis, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students of Greek heritage with high moral character and academic promise. Preference shall be given to students from Boys Gymnasium of Xanthi, Greece. Should no students meet these criteria, full-time students from the Mohawk Valley with a demonstrated financial need will be eligible to receive the scholarship.

Established by the University’s Foundation Board, this scholarship is awarded to students of Utica University.
Utica University Memorial Scholarship
Established to recognize deceased faculty and staff who served Utica University, this scholarship is awarded to students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Utica University Women's Club Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to female students of at least 25 years of age on the basis of academic achievement, future promise, and financial need.
Utica First Insurance Company Scholarship
Established by Utica First Insurance Company, this scholarship is awarded to a deserving full-time student entering their junior or senior year who maintains a minimum GPA of 2.5. Preference will be given to a student majoring in Business Administration who plans to pursue a career in the insurance industry. If a student is not eligible based on these criteria, consideration will be given to a student majoring in Computer Science. The recipient is also eligible for a paid internship with Utica First Insurance Company during the summer months.
Utica National Insurance Group Scholarship
Established by the Utica National Group Foundation, Inc., this scholarship is awarded to children of active employees of the Utica National Insurance Group, and is based on academic merit.
Utica State Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association Scholarship
Established by members of the Alumni Association of the Utica State Hospital School of Nursing, this scholarship is awarded to matriculated students in their junior year majoring in Nursing that demonstrate financial need, academic excellence, and are graduates of Utica State Hospital (Utica Psychiatric Center) School of Nursing, or who are the children or grandchildren of graduates of this school. If there are no students meeting these criteria, any student pursuing a Nursing degree is eligible, with preference given to a student indicating an interest or proficiency in psychiatric nursing.

Established by an anonymous donor in honor of Dean Webster's service to the students of Utica University as Dean of Men from 1946 to 1960 and Dean of Students from 1960 to 1964, this scholarship is awarded to a student planning a career in Education.

This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in Business.
Dean Barbara J. Welton Scholarship
Established by an anonymous donor in recognition of Dean Welton's contribution of time and service to the students during the early years Utica University, this scholarship is awarded to a female student who plans to contribute to the Utica community. The recipient must demonstrate integrity, academic merit, and financial need.
Whipple Scholarship in Communication Arts
This scholarship is awarded to students with a demonstrated financial need majoring in Communication Arts. Should no students meet these criteria, the scholarship can be awarded to students majoring in Public Relations and/or Journalism with a demonstrated financial need.
R. Barry and Mary J. White Scholarship
Established by the University’s Vice President for Financial Affairs and his wife, this scholarship is awarded to deserving full-time students who demonstrate academic merit and financial need.
Francis A. Wilcox Scholarship
Established by Francis A. Wilcox, this scholarship is awarded to full-time students from Oneida, Herkimer, or Madison counties based on financial need and academic merit.
D. J. Wilson ’67 Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded annually to a full-time student with demonstrated financial need. First preference will be given to a student from Hamilton County, New York, or from its neighboring counties should none be available from Hamilton County, who is entering their junior year, majoring in Biology, and maintains a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0. In any academic year in which there may not be a student enrolled at the University meeting the criteria as stated above, consideration may be given to similar students majoring in Health Sciences. The Center for Student Success-Financial Aid Services will establish a schedule for the solicitation of nominations from the Biology Department (or the Health Sciences Department), and will have sole responsibility for the selection of scholarship recipients in accordance with established University policy.
Women’s Christian Association of Utica Scholarship
Established by the Women’s Christian Association of Utica, this scholarship is awarded to students attending Utica University.
Dr. Mark E. Wondro Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student with demonstrated academic merit and financial need. Preference will be given to a student accepted to an accredited school of podiatry. Failing a student meeting these criteria, the scholarship can be awarded to a student entering their final year of study in either the Doctor of Physical Therapy or Master's in Nursing program. The recipient must demonstrate those traits which will make them an asset to both their profession and community.

Robert and Gladys Young Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduate students, with a preference given to graduates of Oriskany High School. Failing any qualified students from Oriskany High School, consideration will be given to graduating students from any of the remaining high schools in the Town of Whitestown. The scholarship is renewable for the recipient's subsequent undergraduate years provided they continue to be enrolled full-time and remain in good academic standing.

This scholarship is awarded to an incoming student who graduated from the Young Scholars Program.

Zellner, this scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in Psychology with demonstrated academic merit and financial need. All full-time Psychology faculty members shall recommend awarding of the scholarship to a student of their choice.
